City Planning Update
Brea Outlines Timetable For “La Floresta” Process

A Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) on the proposed “La Floresta” project has been received and a 45-day public review period is underway. The document is available to the public at the Development Services counter on Level 3 at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center, or simply by clicking the various chapter links below. All comments must be submitted in writing and rceived by 5:30 p.m. on January 22, 2007.

The “La Floresta” project includes development of two separate properties which together encompass over 200 acres on the east side of Brea. The project applicant has conducted extensive outreach and shared many details in advance of formal approval processes. Community interest has been high through preliminary planning stages. Several levels of review still remain prior to official acceptance of the project.

The DEIR is a critical step to identify relevant findings and invite public comment. Following a legally prescribed review period, a public hearing is then conducted.  Such a meeting will be formally noticed in advance.
